DJ Platinum Sounds – The Time Traveler (Studio 14)

Hi I’m Alan, AKA DJ Platinum Sounds, and I have been rocking dance floors and airwaves since way back in 1991! What began as a favour for a mate in a local nightclub soon turned into a lifelong passion. After holding down a 10-year residency at a buzzing club — where I spun everything from cheesy party anthems to club classics — I shifted gears and found my true groove behind the radio mic.

Today, I am best known for my work as a radio presenter, bringing my energy, quick wit, and encyclopaedic music knowledge to listeners across countless stations. My shows are packed with feel-good vibes, cheeky banter, and of course, tunes that span decades and genres. Whether it’s golden oldies, dance anthems, or chart favourites, I know exactly how to keep audiences tuned in and smiling. Here at Voyager, I am best known for being their cover DJ. However, I host a regular Saturday show, “The Voyager Time Tunnel,” from 11am until 2pm, but I can also be relied on to cover for our other great DJs when they are away.

With roots in a small town just outside Oxford, this South-Easterner has taken his love of music from the local scene to the radio waves, where he continues to share his passion with thousands of listeners. Just don’t ask him for too much rap or classical—everything else is fair game!

Clubs, discos, or radio—whatever the setting, DJ Platinum Sounds always brings the party.
